Use Leftover Butter and Grease

Popcorn and butter are now almost ubiquitous together. However, it didn't start out that way. In fact, it was Americans who first added their leftover butter and grease to the top of popcorn in part to not be wasteful.

Why Not Sugar?

Why Not Sugar?

Sugar has always been a hotly sought-after commodity due to its sweet taste. Thus, why not add sugar to popcorn? In fact, in the 1800s, Americans began to eat popcorn as a breakfast good. People sprinkled sugar on top of it, placed it in milk, and ate it as a scrumptious cereal.

Cracker Jack was born!

Cracker Jack Was Born

Cracker Jack was invented by Fritz Rueckheim who sold popcorn from carts in the late 1800s. He came up with the idea to sprinkle molasses and caramel on top of popcorn, package it in small boxes, and sell it. It made its debut at The Chicago World's Fair in 1893, and the rest is history.
